Qualifications

• Valid Second Mate license from a recognized maritime authority.
• Fluent in English; additional languages a plus.
• Prior experience as Second Mate or similar role is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work on a contract basis without accommodation provided.
• Strong leadership and ability to work under pressure.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Captain in navigational operations, chart plotting, and weather monitoring.
• Oversee the deck crew and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Inspect vessel seaworthiness and report issues to the Captain.
• Monitor fuel consumption and maintain records.
• Participate in drills and emergency procedures per international regulations.
• Keep accurate cargo records for load/discharge.
• Maintain navigational equipment inventory and report malfunctions.
