Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Providing navigation assistance to the captain and crew
• Assisting with watchkeeping and vessel operations (mooring/unmooring, cargo handling)
• Monitoring weather and advising on course changes
• Preparing navigational charts and tracking the vessel’s position
• Assisting in emergencies (medical or man overboard drills)
• Compiling voyage reports
• Liaising with other vessels or shore personnel as needed
