Job summary

Abroad Work in Fujairah, UAE is seeking an Assistant Second Mate to join our vessel and begin a seafaring career. You will assist the Chief Officer and Captain with safe navigation, stand watch on the bridge, and help maintain navigation records.

Requirements include a valid Second Mate license, fluent English (Arabic a plus), and a willingness to live aboard and train on the job. Preference for African or Egyptian nationality. No prior experience required; motivation and teamwork are essential.

Assistant Second Mate

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Second Mate to join our team in El-Fujairah, UAE. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking to start their career as a seafarer and is willing to work hard and learn new skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Chief Officer and Captain in the safe navigation and operation of the vessel
• Stand watch on the bridge during designated periods, maintaining a vigilant lookout for any hazards or other vessels
• Maintain accurate records of all activities related to navigation, including weather conditions, ship's position, speed, and course
• Conduct routine checks of all safety equipment and report any defects or malfunctions to the Chief Officer
• Assist with mooring and anchoring operations as needed
• Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas on the vessel

Requirements:

• Must hold a valid Second Mate license or certificate issued by an approved maritime authority
• Fluent in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus)
• Preferably from African or Egyptian nationality
• No prior experience required but must be willing to undergo training and learn on the job
• Willing to live onboard the vessel with provided accommodation
