About you:

We are seeking an exceptional and creative Art teacher to join us as Second in Faculty – Art & Design Technology, supporting the leadership and development of a dynamic and innovative Art and Design Technology Faculty across all key stages. This is a teaching and middle leadership role, reporting to the Head of Faculty. The successful candidate will maintain an active teaching commitment in Art, while playing a key role in driving high‑quality teaching, learning and curriculum development across the wider faculty.

We are looking for a teacher and aspiring leader who:

• Holds a relevant degree in Art, Art & Design, or a related field, alongside a PGCE (or equivalent) and QTS.
• Has a strong track record of high‑quality teaching in Art, with positive student outcomes.
• Demonstrates the potential to step into middle leadership, supporting strategic direction while modelling excellent classroom practice.
• Supports the Head of Faculty in delivering a creative, innovative and well‑sequenced curriculum across all key stages.
• Contributes to the mentoring and development of colleagues, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team culture.
• Is passionate about developing creativity, design thinking and problem‑solving skills in students.
• Plays an active role in shaping and delivering a rich co‑curricular programme, including exhibitions, competitions and enrichment opportunities.
• Is confident in using technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning in Art and across the wider faculty.
• Uses assessment and data effectively to support student progress and raise achievement.
• Is an excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Brings energy, creativity and initiative, with the ability to inspire students and contribute to departmental growth.
