Primary Responsibilities:

Designs, prepares, and delivers engaging lessons to the students.
• Sets and delivers high standards on academic excellence in the class.
• Monitors pupils’ progress and keeps record of their development. Provides support and guidance to underachieving students.
• Prepares and monitors IEPs – Individual Education Plans for underachieving pupils.
• Acts as a coach for gifted and talented pupils.
• Ensures that teaching meets all the needs of students, including effective management of behaviour.
• Maintains class discipline and encourages learning participation in the class.
• Controls and oversees the use and storage of books and other teaching resources provided for class usage.
• Encourages overall growth of pupils by participation in extracurricular activities and academic excellence in competitive tests.
• Strives to balance academics and overall pupil development by participation in sports, art, drama, music, etc.
• Conducts daily health checks for pupils and recommends them to the school clinic when required.
• Uses a wide range of teaching methods and aids to make learning fun.
• Completes the assigned duties and responsibilities for inspection and review of Ministry of Education, Oman.

• Maintains up-to-date subject knowledge.
• Participates in the school’s Performance Management process and opportunities for Continued Professional Development, including attending INSET.
• Undertakes cover duties for colleagues as assigned by the Headmaster/SLT.
• Attends and contributes to staff meetings, discussions, and management systems necessary to coordinate the work of the school as a whole.
• Promotes and participates in After School Activities organized at school.
• The nature of the responsibilities of the position may alter at the discretion of HASIS Management to undertake duties in another capacity in line with reasonable and lawful requirements.

Experience Requirements:

Required: Science Teachers for Biology & Science teacher for General.

PGCE in area of specialization to be backed by 4 years of experience.

• Relevant teaching experience – International British curriculum.
  • Minimum 5 years subject teaching experience post qualification viz. Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, English, Arabic, or French.
  • Teaching credentials - QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Candidate should be able to teach up to Key Stage 4.
