Job summary

Teach Away in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a qualified counsellor to provide social, emotional, and behavioral support to students within a school environment. You will assess needs, develop intervention plans, and collaborate with parents, teachers, and leadership to promote student welfare.

The role requires a Bachelor degree with 2+ years of teaching or student welfare experience, plus relevant licensing in social work or related field.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor
• Teaching Experience: 2+ years
• Licenses & Certifications: Other Certification - DCD License
• Bachelor's Degree (QFE Level 7) in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counselling or a related field. Professional qualification in Social Work or a related discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide social, emotional and behavioral support to students in accordance with school policies and procedures.
• Assess student needs and develop appropriate intervention and support plans.
• Support students facing personal, family, social or academic challenges that may affect their wellbeing and learning.
• Work collaboratively with parents, teachers and school leadership to promote student welfare and positive outcomes.
• Deliver counselling, guidance and referral services where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date student records and case documentation.
• Monitor student attendance, behaviour and welfare concerns, providing timely interventions when necessary.
• Coordinate with external agencies and community services to support students and families.
• Conduct awareness programmes and workshops related to student wellbeing, safeguarding and personal development.
• Support the school's safeguarding and child protection procedures in accordance with ADEK requirements.
