School and Career Counsellor

Role Overview

This dual-role position (70% School Counsellor, 30% Career Counsellor) supports learner well-being while leading the design and delivery of a future-focused Careers Programme. You will work closely with mentors, SLT, families, and external partners to foster a culture of support, confidence, and purposeful planning for every learner's future.

Key Responsibilities

Counselling and Well-Being

1. Provide one-on-one and group sessions supporting confidence, resilience, and self-awareness.
2. Partner with families and school leaders to support learner well-being.
3. Maintain confidential, accurate records and implement school-wide initiatives promoting mental health.

Careers Leadership (Phase 3+)

1. Design and lead the Citizens Careers Programme aligned with KHDA and global standards.
2. Guide learners on subject choices, university pathways, and non-traditional career options.
3. Build partnerships for internships, job shadowing, and industry networking.
4. Organise career events, coaching sessions, and support learners with applications.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor's in Counselling, Psychology, Education, or related field (Master's preferred).
2. Certified in safeguarding, well-being, and career guidance.
3. Minimum 2 years' experience in school counselling or career coaching.
4. Familiarity with international school settings and diverse learner needs.
