Job description

School Accountant

Job Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Responsibilities:

  1. Review and approve Purchase Requisitions for budget availability and budget codes.
  2. Process supplier payments via 3-way matching (Invoice, PO & GRN) on time with proper due diligence checks and validation.
  3. Ensure supplier accounts are reconciled and highlight to the respective departments for any unreconciled transaction for further action.
  4. Manage petty cash as per policy to meet business requirements.
  5. Asset creation, depreciation run and closing of FA module on monthly basis.
  6. Manage month end closing activities accurately and on a timely manner.
  7. Prepare monthly MIS report and review with Assistant Finance Manager.
  8. Circulate and present monthly MIS to Principal and OSM for decision making.
  9. Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules and review with Assistant Finance Manager.
  10. Prepare bank reconciliation statement and review with AFM and submit to AE Group Finance Treasury team.
  11. Ensure P&L and balance sheet accounts are accurate by clearing all unreconciled balances.
  12. Provide necessary support to prepare annual school budget along with details with regards to the school expenses in coordination with school and HQ finance team.
  13. Support with internal and external audit by providing audit LOR.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  2. 5+ Years' experience in finance function or professional qualifications with 2+ years plus experience in similar role.
  3. Fluent English communication skills, written and oral.
  4. Attention to detail with diligent follow up, and able to execute in a timely manner.
  5. Skilled in multi-tasking and handling pressure.
  6. Advanced excel skills with proven financial modelling experience.
  7. Proficient in accounting software.
  8. Ability to liaise effectively with business functions in order to collect input required for analysis.
  9. Ability to manage a team.
  10. Ability to be detail focused when required whilst maintaining sight of the big picture.
  11. Deadline oriented and take ownership of work.
  12. Excellent analytical capabilities and hands on experience in MS Office presentations.
  13. Organizational ability, of self and others.
  14. Forethought and forward planning.
