In UAE, Siemens Mobility is delivering the signaling, telecom, and power supply systems for the 303 km Abu Dhabi-Sohar railway, which marks the first cross-country railway network in the Middle East, connecting the UAE and Oman.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Responsible for the design and development of SCADA systems, including discussions with vendors and customers for design approvals.
  • Manage technical requirements for SCADA projects.
  • Interface and coordinate with other subsystems to ensure seamless integration of SCADA with other systems.
  • Implement safe and best execution practices in accordance with Siemens guidelines.
  • Assist in project execution, and in the verification and approval of technical documentation.
  • Implement and document configuration management definitions and requirements within specified deadlines.
  • Facilitate execution through coordination across multiple functions, including engineering, business controlling, supply management, manufacturing development, and other relevant interfaces.
  • Establish and provide standardized reports on product / project execution to line and project management.
  • Capable of working effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Bear responsibility for project design, with a focus on product safety.Create and present designs for internal and external design reviews.
  • Use SAP for the creation and release of Bills of Materials (BOM), drawings, technical specifications, and for managing change control processes.
  • Utilize DOORS and ComplyPro tools for effective requirements management.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Railway Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in international railway projects, preferably involving Siemens Signaling products.
  • Proficient in computer-aided design using Autodesk AutoCAD.
  • Experienced in communicating with suppliers and customers, both internal and external.
  • Strong technical skills in the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of railway SCADA systems.
  • Skilled in using ProjectWise for document management and collaboration.
  • Knowledgeable in Telecom and Power subsystems, and their integration with other subsystems.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as IRSE, EN50126 / 8 / 9, and AREMA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of safety-critical systems and fail-safe design principles.
  • Willing and able to travel to project sites, customer locations, and partner offices as required.
