Job summary

Orbitworks is expanding its Test Engineering team in Abu Dhabi and seeks a Manufacturing Software Engineer to build robust, scalable test software for satellite subsystems. The role emphasizes translating test requirements into automated scripts, improving debugging workflows, and enhancing test repeatability in production environments.

You will work closely with Electrical AIT, Systems teams and production to accelerate test execution, ensure robust data logging, and support EGSE test benches

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
• 43 years of experience in Test software development, embedded systems or hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python (required).
• Experience with hardware interfacing, instrumentation control, serial/ER networks and data logging.
• Strong debugging and structured problem-solving skills.
• Experience working close to hardware in test integration or manufacturing environments.
• Clear and structured documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts (e.g., Python-based frameworks).
• Translate system and manufacturing test requirements into executable code.
• Build modular reusable and scalable test libraries.
• Implement clear pass/fail logic, data logging and reporting structures.
• Identify manual test activities and drive automation.
• Design efficient test flows to reduce execution time.
• Improve CI/CD workflows for test software releases.
• Interface with EGSE hardware and test benches; support commissioning.
• Support manufacturing builds during functional and environmental test campaigns.
