Job summary

Orbitworks is expanding its UAE satellite production facility and seeks an Environmental Test Engineer to join the team on site in Abu Dhabi. You will oversee the full lifecycle of environmental verification and testing, from feasibility through SOP planning to hands-on TVAC, vibration, thermal and EMI/EMC campaigns.

You will set up tests, install sensors, monitor progress, collect data, and produce reports while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• 25 years of environmental test experience required.
• Proficiency operating test equipment (thermal vacuum chambers, vibration shakers).
• Ability to read and interpret test plans, schematics and drawings.
• Technical diploma or Associates degree in a relevant field (e.g. mechanical or electrical technology).
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety in high-stakes environments.
• Solid understanding of instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain environmental test equipment (thermal vacuum, vibration, acoustic chambers).

• Execute environmental tests per procedure and engineering direction.

• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and cleanroom procedures.
• Collaborate with AIT, QA and engineering teams to improve test processes.

Job description

Orbitworks is significantly increasing the level of our satellite production and therefore we require an Environmental Test Engineer to join the team at our newly opened state-of-the-art satellite production facility in the UAE.

This role provides the opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of environmental verification and test from early program feasibility to planning SOP creation infrastructure readiness maintenance oversight right through to the hands‑on execution of Vibration TVAC Thermal and EMC/EMI campaigns.

This role is vital as it ensures our satellites are tested reliably on schedule and to the high standards required for us to launch.

• Experience with environmental test standards (e.g. GEVS Mil-Std-1540 CEQATR)
• Familiarity with RF testing setups or tools
• Basic scripting or programming skills (Python preferred)
• Certified forklift and/or crane operator
• Experience working in cleanroom or ISO-classified environments
