Job description

The Technology Architect role is responsible for the overall performance, standards, and direction of a company's physical IT architecture.

Job Summary

The Technology Architect manages and supports the selection and implementation of the company’s IT infrastructure.

The main goal of the TA is to create the optimal strategic system landscape for the customer, integrating legacy systems and modern SAP solutions.

The TA designs and optimizes enterprise-wide deployment of SAP technology solutions, requiring a solid understanding of SAP product offerings, interoperability, and high-level interface technology.

Minimum Work Experience

• 15+ years of relevant experience
• Experience leading Enterprise Architecture design for large organizations, preferably in the public sector
• Understanding of hardware architecture standards
• Ability to assess architectural implications
• Experience working with procurement and vendors

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience working with SAP systems, preferably SAP TRM
• Knowledge of full-stack design and deployment
• Experience working in the Gulf region

Duties & Responsibilities

• Focus on standards and technologies that enable system performance qualities such as availability, scalability, and recoverability
• Evaluate and select enterprise server hardware, operating systems, and job control
• Support solution/application architects in selecting application frameworks
• Balance quality, cost, robustness, and hardware architecture considerations
• Monitor performance benchmarks
• Assist in sizing applications and selecting appropriate hardware and configurations
• Participate in drafting Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Establish processes to monitor system performance and draft migration plans if necessary
• Support hardware selection and implementation by third parties
• Implement IT processes across related components
• Develop value-based business cases for customers
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate system development activities
• Define scope of technological work
• Provide technological strategic guidance and mentorship to technical teams
• Support operating system optimization
