Job Description

The SAP IAM / IAG Consultant will lead the practical delivery and ongoing improvement of identity and access capabilities across the SAP landscape. This role will translate business access needs into secure, controlled and auditable solutions, balancing operational efficiency with risk management and governance expectations.

Success will be measured by the reliability of access processes, the quality of role and authorisation design, and the organisation’s ability to identify and resolve access risks promptly. Working across technology, business and control functions, you will bring structure to provisioning, approvals, reviews and remediation while ensuring that SAP access remains aligned with changing responsibilities and business requirements.

The position requires a hands-on consultant who can investigate complex access matters, communicate clearly with varied stakeholders and improve the consistency of SAP security practices. Dubai-based, the role offers scope to influence access governance within a diversified regional retail and services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain SAP IAM and IAG processes across relevant SAP environments.
• Translate business responsibilities and operational requirements into effective roles, profiles and authorisation structures.
• Administer and improve user lifecycle processes covering access requests, approvals, provisioning, changes and de-provisioning.
• Assess segregation-of-duties conflicts, critical access and other control exposures, then coordinate appropriate remediation.
• Lead or support periodic user access reviews, role recertification and evidence preparation for governance and audit requirements.
• Investigate access incidents, identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Partner with business owners, process leads, IT teams and control stakeholders to resolve requirements and access issues.
• Monitor the effectiveness of access controls and recommend improvements to workflows, role design and governance practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation covering configurations, operating procedures, control decisions and support activities.
• Contribute to SAP security projects, enhancements, testing and controlled releases affecting identity and access.

Requirements

• Practical experience delivering SAP Identity and Access Management or Identity Access Governance solutions.
• Strong knowledge of SAP user administration, roles, profiles, authorisations and access provisioning models.
• Working understanding of segregation of duties, privileged access, critical access and periodic access certification.
• Experience configuring, supporting or enhancing SAP access governance workflows and related control processes.
• Ability to analyse complex access requirements and convert them into clear, supportable security designs.
• Exposure to SAP security integrations, connected systems or identity lifecycle technologies would be valuable.
• Experience supporting audits, control testing, remediation tracking or access-risk reporting.
• Comfort working with business process owners, technical teams, auditors and senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical capability, with a methodical approach to investigation, documentation and problem resolution.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical access matters to non-specialist audiences.
