Overview of the Role
The Sales Team Leader is responsible for translating IKEA sales and range principles into effective commercial activity across the assigned Business Area. This includes defining the range for Showroom and Markethall areas, monitoring sales performance, supporting pricing decisions, coordinating forecasts and product availability, and maintaining current knowledge of customers, competitors, and market trends. People leadership is an important part of the position. The role will coach and develop Sales co-workers, strengthen understanding of the IKEA Concept, and encourage a diverse and performance-focused working environment.
What You Will Do
- Sales and Range Management
- Implement IKEA Concept Documentation systems and methods for sales and range activities across stores.
- Define the product range within the relevant Showroom and Markethall sales areas.
- Work with shopkeepers on supplier selection and contract management to support economies of scale.
- Monitor local market conditions and implement relevant range actions in accordance with IKEA Concept Documentation.
- Steer sales performance to maximize sales and optimize profit using IKEA methods.
- Complete Business Area range administration through the relevant sales IT system.
- Maintain regular contact with shopkeepers and provide ongoing commercial support.
- Pricing and Commercial Performance
- Set and adjust prices across the IKEA range to support the low-price positioning.
- Contribute to development of the IKEA Sales and Range action plan using store and country business plans.
- Work toward agreed sales budgets for the IKEA range.
- Maintain market knowledge covering customers, social trends, product trends, and competitors.
- Support shopkeepers with local competitor analysis and appropriate follow-up actions.
- Goods Availability and Coordination
- Work with Logistics to adjust sales forecasts and support efficient goods flow.
- Coordinate product availability for planned marketing activities.
- Ensure top-selling products are available and appropriately displayed while promoting suitable alternatives when required.
- Support stores with buying guides for complex product series.
- Coordinate range‑related matters between stores, retail management, and the IKEA distributor.

- Develop the Sales team through training on the IKEA Concept and individual responsibilities.
