JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for sales of Edelman, Knoll Textiles, and Maharam products to the A&D community, furniture and panel dealers, end users, and residential clients within the GCC.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Strategically manage existing territory and account list. Broaden opportunities by developing new business beyond the existing account list as the GCC is an emerging market.
  • Develop ongoing relationships with clients (firms and individuals) to ensure brand awareness, product familiarity, and ensure consideration for project involvement and specification opportunities.
  • Present and promote all textiles an product lines to clientele. Provide product information (both aesthetic and functional) as well as product suitability, develop strategies for pricing, navigate delivery, and work within the confines of project schedules.
  • Maintain client database, including all project opportunities.
  • Maintain resource library for sampled clients, including replacement of missing sampling and removal of obsolete items as well as merchandising materials / sampling to the best advantage in all resource libraries.
  • Work in partnership with inside sales support.
  • Help to support and secure specifications that arise from both inside the territory as well as specifications that originate from other global entities outside of the GCC.
  • Evening entertainment required.
  • Must have a car.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to a US based Manager, Regional Sales and may receive additional assignments and direction from VP, Sales.

CONTACTS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE ORGANIZATION

  • This position has contact with specifying clients, purchasing customers, and end-users outside of the organization.
  • Internal corporate department contacts include : Resource Management, Quality Assurance, Credit, Key Client Services, Sales Management, International Logistics, and Sales Reps and Sales Support in other offices as needed for project follow-up.
  • This position also has contact within MillerKnoll Dubai.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Ability to connect with people both one-on-one and in group settings. Social and engaging.
  • Comfortable entertaining clients away from their place of work.
  • Articulate and effective communicator. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle problem resolution smartly and with confidence; such as price, delivery, quality or installation challenges.
  • Organized and able to multitask and retain and understand high level of product, project, client, and process information.
  • Desire to work as a part of a team.
  • Ability to work to Maharam protocol and process, without direct supervision.
  • Computer savvy with working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Teams and Word, ability to learn DON, BRUCE, and various Maharam specific computer functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, degree in Interior Design is preferred.

2-4 years of sales experience preferred.
