Role Overview
Commercial Sales Executive will secure sponsorship and exhibition revenues for one or multiple events, developing new business opportunities and converting them into revenue through stands and sponsorships. Candidate must have confidence in commercial dealings, strong business development ethics, and excellent interpersonal skills to ensure exceptional customer experience.
Job Description
- Industry understanding – Keep up to date via industry publications, monitor competitors' shows, and stay aware of trends.
- Commercial excellence – Build a compelling business pitch and engage prospects from initial contact to contracts. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective exhibitors and sponsors through daily call activities, email follow‑ups, targeting existing and new inquiries. Craft persuasive value propositions and achieve individual and team commercial targets.
- Metrics for Success – Daily call activities, pipeline growth, new account generation, lead conversion.
- Commercial planning – Develop comprehensive sales plans with weekly and monthly targets aligned to the event’s objectives. Leverage show‑cycle campaigns, competitor geofencing, delegate data, and marketing campaigns to uncover new business opportunities.
- Sales targets – Own commercial targets, new business development, and reporting.
- Pipeline – Identify and qualify new leads, mine the existing pipeline on Salesforce, and report all activities accurately.
- Client engagement – Maintain strong client relationships to ensure high satisfaction from booking to show delivery; oversee administration and fulfilment of sponsorship packages with internal teams.
- Team collaboration – Work closely with internal teams to target potential customers and clients accurately.
- Personal development – Demonstrate interest in sales discipline and the show industry; learn quickly and absorb information.
- Travel – Attend events to secure re‑signing or new commitments from sponsors and exhibitors for the following year’s event.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Excellent telephoning sales manner with consistently high call rates.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in B2B exhibition sales and sponsorship.
- Serial networker and social media savvy.
- Technical experience with contract management, budget management, and proposal writing.
- Experience using databases (preferably Salesforce) for mass and targeted sales campaigns.
- Ability to cross‑sell and up‑sell opportunities and products.
- Focus on customer needs and seek win‑win agreements.
- Excellent verbal and written English; other languages are an advantage.
