PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Sales Director for Specialist Services’ Defense business line is directly responsible for generating sales of deployable rigid wall shelter systems and associated engineering services, test and qualification services, and integrated logistics support (ILS) to International Prime Contractors and Original Equipment Manufacturers.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Lead Sales Strategy Development : Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for deployable rigid wall shelter systems, engineering services, test and qualification services, and integrated logistics support (ILS) tailored to International Prime Contractors and OEMs in the defense sector.
- Sales Target Management : In conjunction with leadership, set ambitious but achievable sales targets for the business line, consistently working to meet or exceed quotas and driving growth in both existing and new markets.
- Market Analysis and Intelligence : Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, emerging needs, and potential clients within the defense sector, with a focus on international opportunities.
- Client Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including prime contractors, OEMs, and government entities, to secure new business and expand existing partnerships.
- Proposal Development & Bid Management : Oversee the preparation and submission of competitive proposals, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, budget constraints, and delivery schedules.
- Contract Negotiation : Lead negotiations for contracts, terms and conditions, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs) with customers, ensuring favorable outcomes for both the client and the company.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and logistics teams to ensure technical solutions meet client specifications and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Customer Needs Assessment : Identify and assess customer needs through regular interactions and site visits, customizing product offerings and services to meet those specific requirements.
- Sales Reporting & Forecasting : Provide regular sales reports and accurate forecasts to senior management, outlining progress against targets, potential opportunities, and challenges in the pipeline.
- Brand Positioning & Promotion : Represent Specialist Services at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance brand visibility, demonstrate product capabilities, and foster new business opportunities.
- Technical Product Knowledge : Maintain a deep understanding of the company’s deployable rigid wall shelter systems, engineering services, and ILS offerings to effectively communicate the benefits and value propositions to customers.
- Team Leadership & Development : Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, setting clear objectives, providing coaching, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Risk Management : Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with sales contracts, customer relationships, and project delivery timelines.
- Regulatory & Compliance Oversight : Ensure all sales activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and government policies, particularly in relation to defense contracts and international trade.
- Customer Feedback & Continuous Improvement : Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve product offerings, service delivery, and customer satisfaction, driving innovation and ensuring competitive advantage.
