Sales & Business Development Manager International Fixed Connectivity

Location: Dubai

Department: Sales

Overview

We are looking to hire a Sales & Business Development Manager specializing in International Fixed Connectivity, including Subsea Cable, IPLC, and IP Transit, with a focus on Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, engaging with wholesale customers, and driving revenue growth for our international connectivity solutions.

The ideal candidate is a proactive sales leader with a strong understanding of the global wholesale telecom landscape, particularly in fixed infrastructure and subsea cable investments. This role requires expertise in deal structuring, pricing strategies, market analysis, and customer relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive the global wholesale business to capture incremental revenue both from wholesale external customers and Silver Links's internal operation customers.
  • Build key customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, negotiating and closing business deals, and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions and competitors.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and deal structuring to optimize revenue and market positioning.
  • Driving new business for international connectivity solutions across Africa as well as increasing revenue with some existing accounts.
  • Achieving new business revenue targets and maintaining an excellent pipeline of opportunities by responding to RFP's, customer quote requests, preparing business cases etc
  • Develop compelling proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
  • Sales forecasting and reporting

Account Management & Customer Engagement

  • Own and manage customer relationships throughout the lifecycle, ensuring high satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure on-time implementation and delivery of sold services.
  • Monitor deal performance, customer feedback, and competitive trends to refine sales strategies.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Assess the competitive and operator landscape for the wholesale fixed connectivity business.
  • Track and analyse capacity pricing trends, market dynamics, and customer insights to inform pricing updates.
  • Provide input on financial planning and KPIs set by planning and performance teams for wholesale business optimization.
  • Identify strategic partnerships and alliances with all relevant stakeholders to enhance market reach and service offerings.

Operational Efficiency & Reporting

  • Monitor and report on sales performance, providing insights into revenue growth, pricing competitiveness, and deal execution.
  • Ensure effective cross-functional collaboration between sales, finance, technical, and legal teams to support business objectives.
  • Work hand-in-hand with technical teams to manage suppliers, products, and commercial asset management.
  • Define, track, and ensure ambitious financial targets are met for wholesale revenue market share.

  • Revenue Growth: Achieve and exceed wholesale sales and revenue targets.
  • Customer Acquisition & Retention: Expand the customer base while maintaining high satisfaction levels.
  • Market Positioning: Strengthen the company's footprint in Africa's wholesale telecom market.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure timely implementation of deals and effective coordination with internal teams.
  • Financial Optimization: Drive profitability through smart pricing, efficient asset utilization, and cost management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep understanding of wholesale telecommunications, including Subsea Cable, IPLC, IP Transit, and fixed infrastructure.
  • Strong business acumen, including knowledge of product profitability, cost models, and financial planning.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and financial modelling tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multicultural environments and multi-task across multiple deals.
  • Strong presentation and public relations skills, with the ability to communicate complex solutions clearly.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, hardworking, self-motived and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to sell to and negotiate with C level and senior decision makers

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales-related wholesale telecommunication or enterprise environment.
  • Experience in fixed connectivity and submarine cable business and Carrier Business.
  • Outstanding commercial acumen with an ability to uncover opportunities and structure profitable opportunities for the business
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work cross-functionally.
  • Customer-centric mindset.
  • Fluent in English; French is a plus.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
