Job summary

Al Boom Marine (ABM) in the UAE seeks a Sales Associate to deliver an outstanding in-store experience and drive sales. You will understand customer needs, recommend products, and maintain expert product knowledge across apparel, footwear, accessories, cycling, electronics, optical, and sports ranges.

The role requires a customer-focused, energetic individual with strong communication skills and the ability to work weekends and varied shifts.

About The Role

The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering an excellent in-store customer experience while supporting the achievement of sales targets. The role involves understanding customer needs, recommending suitable products, maintaining strong product knowledge, and ensuring the store is presented and operated to high standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Customer Service & Sales
• Greet customers warmly and assist them in identifying their needs and preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service by providing product information, offering alternatives, and cross-selling or upselling products.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the store’s product range, ongoing promotions, and brand initiatives.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating when necessary.
• Achieve and exceed individual and store-level sales targets (KPIs) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Store Operations
• Ensure merchandise is displayed and replenished in accordance with visual merchandising standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the store and fitting rooms.
• Follow stock management processes, including receiving, price tagging, and storing products.
• Assist in periodic stock takes, inventory audits, and reporting of discrepancies.
• Cash Handling
• Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently.
• Accurately process customer transactions, returns, and exchanges.
• Handle cash and card transactions in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Team Collaboration
• Proactively engage in team meetings, sales huddles, and product knowledge sessions to stay aligned with store goals and initiatives.
• Communicate operational challenges, customer feedback, or product-related issues promptly to the Store Manager to support continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service, preferably in a premium retail, marine, sports, or lifestyle environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Confident and proactive approach to selling and achieving sales targets.
• Good product-learning ability and willingness to develop knowledge of marine and leisure products.
• Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products or alternatives.
• Basic knowledge of POS systems, cash handling, and retail store operations.
• Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Flexible to work weekends, public holidays, and varied shifts when required.
• Fluency in English; additional languages, particularly Arabic or Russian, would be an advantage.
