About the Role

The Sales Assistant at GMG will be responsible for promoting products and services to customers, aiming to maximize sales opportunities and provide exceptional customer service.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Describe product features and benefits; demonstrate the use and handling of products.
  2. Educate clients on brand quality standards and specifications.
  3. Advise customers on product ranges best suited to their needs; answer queries to assist in purchase decisions.
  4. Provide information on warranties, features, specifications, maintenance, and care of products.
  5. Ensure customer needs are met, resolve or escalate complaints, and maintain high standards of customer service.
  6. Stay informed about new product launches, promotional events, and sales.
  7. Achieve sales targets through effective sales techniques, up-selling, and cross-selling.
  8. Ensure promotions and pricing are accurate and align with company policies.
  9. Calculate sale prices and discounts; maintain accurate sales records.
  10. Process cash, change, and credit payments; generate invoices and receipts.
  11. Operate as a cashier, ensuring accuracy in money handling where applicable.
  12. Follow store after-sales processes and adhere to repair/return policies.
  13. Follow loss prevention, inventory controls, and operational procedures.
  14. Assist in store merchandising, including product placement and arrangement.
  15. Maintain high standards of store cleanliness and grooming etiquette.
Self-Management:
  1. Set performance goals with the manager at the start of the year and work towards achieving them.
  2. Take ownership of personal learning by identifying development needs and creating a personal development plan.
  3. Stay updated on industry developments, new techniques, and current issues through ongoing education and professional growth.
