Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Safety Officer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and contractors.

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies.
  2. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  3. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
  4. Deliver safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety awareness.
  5. Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws, local regulations, and international safety standards.
  6. Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives.
  7. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, making adjustments as necessary.
  8. Maintain accurate safety records and prepare regular reports for management.
  9. Serve as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies.
  10. Stay up-to-date with the latest safety regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in industrial or construction settings.
  3. In-depth knowledge of UAE labor laws and safety standards.
  4. Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  7. Ability to influence and educate employees at all levels of the organization.
  8. Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are highly desirable.
  9. Experience in conducting risk assessments and hazard identification.
  10. Proven track record in incident investigation and reporting.
  11. Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
  12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  13. Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations as needed.
