We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Officer to oversee workplace safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying hazards, conducting safety audits, and implementing preventive measures to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits of workplace areas.
Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and national occupational health and safety regulations.
Organize and conduct safety training sessions and awareness programs for employees.
Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including inspection logs, training records, and compliance reports.
Liaise with management and external safety agencies to ensure updated safety standards are met.
Promote a culture of safety awareness among employees at all levels.
Prepare and submit periodic safety performance reports to management.
Essential Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
NEBOSH / IOSH certification or equivalent safety qualification is preferred.
2–5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, or industrial environments.
In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
Skills Required :
Strong understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to promote safety awareness.
Ability to conduct safety training and presentations effectively.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities for incident investigation.
Attention to detail and ability to enforce safety protocols under pressure.
Proficiency in MS Office and safety management software (if applicable).
