Safety Management System (SMS) Manager

The Safety Management System (SMS) Manager is required to support the EHS Director with the planning, implementation and continual improvement of the aviation safety management system. The SMS Manager will act as Deputy of the Safety Director on all safety issues and will assist in building and maintaining a cordial relationship with the Regulatory Authorities and Customers to ensure Abu Dhabi Aviation’s interests are best represented and protected.

Essential Qualifications:

1. Minimum 10 years Aviation Industry experience
2. Minimum 5 years in an aviation safety related role, or 3 years in a regulatory post holder position
3. Minimum 3 years managing aviation personnel
4. Minimum 3 years using an SMS platform with administrator rights (SMS Pro, Air Maestro or similar)
5. Safety Management experience with Rotary Wing Aircraft operating to the IOGP the standard
6. ICAO recognized Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence or Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL)
7. Aviation Safety Management System training by recognized provider
8. Lead Auditor and Safety Investigator qualifications
9. Safety Investigation skills and the ability to produce associated reports within agreed timeframes
10. Comprehensive understanding of Change Management principles
11. Ability to interface with internal departments, Senior Management and Regulatory bodies
12. Strategic thinking and planning to align Safety Department initiatives with business goals
13. Analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize processes and make data-driven decisions
14. Leadership and people management skills to build and motivate the safety team
15. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with business leaders and promote safety

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Advanced administration experience with SMS Pro
2. Previous safety post holder experience
3. Technical Manual writing experience
4. Degree in Aviation Safety management
