Job description

Purpose of the Job:

  • To lead a team to perform bogie removal and installation and to perform traction motor refurbishment activity if required for a project metropolis trains.

Objectives:

  • Complete the removal and installation of the bogie for 50 trains and to perform traction motor refurbishment activity if required as per the scheduled timeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Issue progress reports.
  • Follow up traction motor retrofit operations.
  • Report & register any deviation (failure/event) to the RSK Lead Engineer.
  • Use the traction motor test bench to perform the tests required after bearing replacement.
  • Lead and supervise a team of technicians for the removal and installation of the bogie.
  • Ensure good information flow about interventions & operations within retrofit to support shift transition.
  • Perform post-work testing and validation as necessary.
  • Close the work orders for all work carried out.
  • Report any damage or shortage of parts/tools to the logistics department to request replacement parts or order spares and/or consumable tools.
  • Respect the quality requirements for field modification deployment/retrofit.
  • Apply & enforce client & customer EHS & security rules and processes on customer site.
  • Arrange the spare parts required for the activity with proper coordination with the storage team.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in a similar position in rolling stock major maintenance projects.
  • Validated experience in the maintenance of trains.
  • Bogie overhauling experience is required.
  • Traction motor overhauling is a plus.
