Job description

Job Purpose:

To train and mentor student teams competing in RoboCup Junior (RCJ) disciplines including Rescue Line, Maze, Soccer, and OnStage. The instructor will provide hands-on training in robot programming, sensor calibration, strategy development, and mock competition simulation.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and deliver technical workshops on robotics systems (Arduino, EV3, Raspberry Pi)
  2. Coach students on robot design, autonomous navigation, and debugging
  3. Facilitate mock competition scenarios aligned with RoboCup formats
  4. Support teams with strategy documentation and ensuring compliance with competition rules
  5. Provide feedback and mentorship during bootcamp and pre-competition intensives
  6. Develop supporting materials (slides, code samples, troubleshooting guides)
Requirements
Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in robotics education or competitions
  • Proficient in C/C++ or Python; experience with Arduino platforms required
  • Familiarity with RoboCup Junior rules and scoring systems

Desirable:

  • Experience with LEGO Mindstorms EV3 and Raspberry Pi robotics projects
  • Strong classroom management and workshop facilitation skills
  • Excellent communication, motivational, and team-building abilities
  • Previous success in mentoring students to national or international robotics competitions
