Job summary

WSP in the Middle East seeks a Roads/Landscape Inspector to join our Abu Dhabi team and support the construction supervision of major transportation, public realm, landscape, and infrastructure projects. The candidate will inspect roadworks, landscape works, streetscape elements, and related infrastructure to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and authority requirements.

Five+ years in similar roles are preferred, with consultancy supervision experience in Abu

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Roads Inspector, Landscape Inspector, or Roads/Landscape Inspector on infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in construction supervision consultancy environments.
• Strong knowledge of road construction, landscape installation, irrigation systems, public realm works, and streetscape development.
• Experience inspecting roadworks, asphalt works, paving, kerbs, footpaths, soft landscaping, and hard landscaping works.
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi and UAE authority standards, specifications, and construction practices.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience witnessing testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience on major transportation, landscape, and infrastructure projects within Abu Dhabi or the UAE is preferred.
• Consultancy-side supervision experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect roads, highways, landscape, public realm, and streetscape works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Monitor site activities related to pavements, kerbs, sidewalks, hardscape, softscape, irrigation systems, and associated infrastructure.
• Review contractor inspection requests and verify completed works prior to approval.
• Conduct inspections for road construction activities including earthworks, subgrade, subbase, asphalt, road markings, and road furniture.
• Inspect landscape works including planting, irrigation networks, hardscape features, public realm elements, and street furniture.
• Verify that construction materials and workmanship comply with approved standards and specifications.
• Witness testing and inspection activities related to roadworks, irrigation systems, and landscape installations.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, Site Engineers, contractors, and utility stakeholders.
• Identify non-conforming works and assist in implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements on site.
• Support the project team in achieving quality, safety, and project delivery objectives.
