Key Responsibilities
Perform highway project design, sketching and reviewing the developing of the designs.
Plan and review the production of engineering drawings and specifications.
Prepare production drawings when required.
Utilize technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company policies.
Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Plan and review the production of engineering investigations or planning work.
Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for new projects, weighing alternatives and selecting the most cost-effective solution.
Analyze technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
Analyze project dimension and scope and prepare or oversee the preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules and job budgets.
Attend meetings with clients and authorities and discuss any technical issues and find mutual solutions to keep the project running and on track.
Coordinate work with Head of Roads and Highway Design and the project manager and guide junior professionals and technical personnel on the design and drafting of preliminary and final plans.
Be responsible for quality control, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, and checking computations or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others.
