Job Description & Summary
Join our Middle East Deals Risk & Quality (R&Q) team and play a pivotal role in shaping the success of our Deals practice. As our business continues to grow, your expertise as a Manager will be crucial in managing complex risks and ensuring the highest quality in our engagements. You will lead and mentor teams, guiding them through the entire engagement lifecycle, and driving continuous improvement in our processes.We support Deals project teams throughout the entire engagement lifecycle from bidding through contracting and on into delivery, taking a partnership approach to work alongside and collaborate with partners and teams. Please note this is an internal role, not external client facing.
Role Responsibilities
Advise senior management and leadership on client engagements, including the nature of services being provided, the associated risks, and potential reputational, contractual, and legal exposures
Review and assess engagement panels, identifying risks and ensuring that PwC’s reputation and financial position are protected
Evaluate contract clauses from a risk management perspective, ensuring clarity on liability caps, profitability calculations, and the firm’s position in the public domain
Provide guidance on engagement sign-offs, ensuring that all risks have been carefully considered and managed before approval
Collaborate with engagement teams to understand the services being delivered, the client’s needs, and the broader market context
Assess emerging risks, particularly in Deals, including reputational, financial, and service permissibility risks
Work with senior leadership to ensure that engagements are conducted in a manner that protects PwC from undue exposure
Support the pursuit of large-scale transformation opportunities, working alongside the engagement and Deals’ leadership and other risk management functions
Negotiate with clients on contracting challenges, with support from the Office of General Counsel (OGC) and senior stakeholders in the business
Participate in internal governance forums for high-value and higher-risk engagements to support teams in managing contracting and delivery risks
Role Requirements
Extensive experience within a Big 4 environment, with a strong background in risk management internal or client facing
Proven ability to understand and manage complex risks in client engagements, especially in the context of Deals, including reputational, financial, and legal risks
Strong understanding of contract management, including terms related to liability, profitability, and legal exposure
In-depth understanding of emerging technologies and how they can be applied to drive business outcomes, particularly under the firm’s transformation agenda
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to advise senior leadership and influence key decision-making processes
Ability to work collaboratively across teams to ensure that risks are properly identified, understood, and mitigated
Strong knowledge of the professional services industry, with an understanding of market dynamics, service lines, and client engagement models
Professional certifications in risk management, compliance, or legal advisory service
Strong project management capabilities, with a track record of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
Creative and strategic thinker, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation
Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic is preferred
