Job summary

Apex Group Ltd in UAE seeks an experienced Client Risk Officer to lead the risk management framework for our clients in the ADGM/FSRA and DIFC regulatory environment. You will act as a second line of defence ensuring operational, regulatory, cyber, and third‑party risks are identified and managed.

You will develop risk policies, maintain risk registers, provide reports to senior management and the board, and align risk activities with regulatory obligations.

Qualifications

• Experience in risk management within financial services.
• Understanding of regulatory risk and governance frameworks.
• Professional risk certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an Enterprise Risk Management framework for Apex clients.
• Own and update risk policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
• Maintain the Risk Register across operational, regulatory, conduct, technology and third-party risks.
• Oversee risk management, including portfolio analysis and risk reporting to senior management.
• Assess risks related to new products, digital assets, technology, and cybersecurity.
• Coordinate outsourcing and third-party risk management, due diligence and monitoring.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis and control improvement actions.
• Collaborate with Compliance and MLRO teams to align risk with regulatory obligations.

Job Description: Client Risk Officer

Regulated Entity: ADGM/FSRA and DIFC

Primary Location:

DUBAI and ABU DHABI - UAE

ROLE PURPOSE

The Risk Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the risk management framework for Apex clients. The role will act as a key second line of defence for the respective clients, ensuring that operational, regulatory, technology, cyber, conduct, and third-party risks are properly identified, monitored, and managed.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain for Apex clients the Enterprise Risk Management framework, Risk Appetite Statement, and Key Risk Indicators.
• Own and update risk policies, procedures, and risk governance documentation.
• Maintain the Risk Register for Apex clients across operational, regulatory, conduct, technology, and third-party risks.
• Overseeing risk management including portfolio analysis.
• Provide risk reporting and insights to senior management, the Board, and relevant committees.
• Assess for Apex Clients risks related to new products, digital assets, technology infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
• Oversee outsourcing and third-party risk management, including due diligence and ongoing monitoring.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and control improvement actions.
• Work closely with the client’s Compliance and MLRO teams to align risk management with regulatory and financial crime obligations.
• Support regulatory discussions and ensure risk documentation is regulator ready.

Requirements

Between 5 to 10 years experience of risk management within financial services Strong understanding of operational risk, conduct risk, regulatory risk and governance Experience working in a regulated environment: ADGM/FSRA and DIFC experience is preferred Degree in Finance or Risk Professional certification such as FRM, PRM, or CFA are preferred
