Job description

Our vision is to protect customers from products that are illegal, unsafe, or noncompliant. The Compliance and Safety team for the Middle East, Africa, and Trkiye Region is looking for a Risk Manager to manage our product and food compliance policies to protect our customers from noncompliant products for the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and South African Stores.

This role is responsible for creating and driving a roadmap of risk policies and controls across business, legal compliance, operations, tech, and other cross-functional teams globally. This role owns program level metrics and ensures success by leading risk initiatives, prioritization discussions, and reporting.

Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders globally, including Legal, product operations, and Category Management teams to ensure alignment on compliance strategies and initiatives.
  2. Partner with cross-functional teams to define clear project requirements, establish timelines, manage dependencies, and ensure successful and timely execution.
  3. Identify, design, and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the compliance program, leveraging automation and data analytics where possible to eliminate manual processes and create scalable solutions.
  4. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics, develop reporting mechanisms, and regularly communicate progress, risks, and mitigation plans to cross-functional leadership.
  5. Deep dive into specific compliance requirements (e.g., external regulatory and internal Amazon policy requirements) and make data-driven compliance solutions.
  6. Identify needs for scalable tech solutions and influence stakeholders to drive availability and effectiveness.
  7. Develop and improve mechanisms for continuous improvement.

A Day in the Life
The Risk Manager is a key driver of Amazon's compliance and safety programs. The role works across multiple global stakeholders, including operations and tech, to drive a large portfolio of key deliverables that are tracked at an executive level.

Minimum Requirements
  1. 4 years of compliance program management, legal governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience.
  2. Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  3. Experience handling confidential information.
  4. 3 years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience.
  5. Professional auditing qualification or similar risk or compliance credentials.
  6. Experience with SQL and Excel.
