Job description

This position will focus on ensuring the company adheres to regulatory, AML, and sanctions compliance requirements, while managing operational and enterprise risks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance frameworks and procedures related to Regulatory, AML, and Sanctions Compliance.
  • Identifying compliance risks, designing and executing policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate them.
  • Promoting a compliance culture through risk-based training and awareness programs.
  • Conducting customer due diligence, reviewing KYC documentation, and ensuring timely reviews in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Performing reviews of key compliance systems, including transaction monitoring and client screening.
  • Investigating system-generated AML alerts, addressing suspicious activities, and compiling case files as needed.
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Preparing and delivering detailed risk analysis reports, as well as managing fraud prevention and detection processes.
  • Administering the AML reporting network across the business and preparing reports for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

Academic, Vocational Qualification:

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration or related fields
  • Compliance qualification from an internationally recognized body is desirable like ACAMS, international Compliance Association certifications, etc.

Work Experience:

  • Compliance experience in the financial services industry or private banking in a recognized market in UAE.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory rules and legislation about Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), Central Bank regulations and sanctions.
  • Experience of external and internal audit and ability to conduct financial statements review, evaluating controls is preferred.
