Job Description :

JOB OBJECTIVES (SUMMARY OF OVERALL JOB PURPOSE)

Coordinating all rewinding work program and ensure that the instructions regarding all works and specification are conveyed to the Rewinding Section.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Policies, Processes & Procedures:

1. Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
2. Follow and comply to information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.

Day-to-day operations:

1. Ensure that all rewound equipment pass Quality Control test for the first time within an allocated time frame.
2. Coordinating all rewinding jobs and ensuring all jobs are in accordance to required standard.
3. Reporting on employees according to the disciplinary code who’s output or work standards do not meet required levels of quality standards.
4. Handling a team of Rewinders.
5. Maintaining the safety requirements in rewinding section and ensure that all safety requirements regarding rewinding being worked on are followed.
6. Approve material requisition for stock items.
7. Exercise discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness.
8. Liaise with other discipline foremen / supervision to ensure the optimum utilization of available resources, with the overall objective of successful completion of the project.
9. Create progress reports on a daily basis and ensure that any significant information is communicated to the supervisor i.e. resource shortfalls, surplus, HSEQ concerns.
10. Assist the senior foreman and supervisors in planning activities.
11. Ensure that the workers are properly supplied with machineries, tools, equipment and materials and everything is in proper order and state of maintenance.
12. Perform inspections to ensure that the workers performance is up to the set standards.
13. Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.

1. Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
2. Follow and comply to information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.

KEY COMPETENCIES

Language skills:

1. Good knowledge of English language. Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage.
2. Very good knowledge in technical terms and report writing skills.

Technical competencies:

1. Good knowledge of shipyard operating methods.
2. Familiarity with a variety of vessels and terminology.
3. Identification and selection of various electrical items.
4. Knowledge and experience in ship repair and new building yard.
5. Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and other discipline related project and engineering documentation.
6. Knowledge of rewinding rotating machines/power transformers etc.

Education: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or any other relevant qualifications. Bachelor in Electrical Engineering.

Training: 2 years trade apprentice course. Relevant leadership and rewinding training.

Experience: 5-7 years of relevant rewinding experience, at least 2 years experience in a Foreman / Lead position, 5-10 years in ship repair and new building shipyard.
