Job Description
The Revenue Manager is responsible for optimizing the hotel’s and RGI (Revenue Generation Index) sales revenue. Key responsibilities include:
- Interacting closely with the hotel’s senior management.
- Participating in budget and strategy development, and ensuring their implementation.
- Managing pricing strategies and inventory optimization.
- Providing a global perspective on Revenue Management across the hotel.
- Organizing and monitoring all related activities.
- Maintaining proper grooming standards at all times.
- Attending scheduled training sessions.
- Fostering cooperation and respect within the team and other departments.
- Having comprehensive knowledge of all hotel facilities and daily activities.
- Supporting the budgetary process and annual strategy.
- Developing yearly budgets per segment and per day.
- Setting sales strategies and annual rate tables for all market segments.
- Developing and steering the hotel’s Revenue strategy.
- Preparing forecasts and leading Revenue meetings.
- Implementing pricing strategies and circulating recommendations.
- Nurturing relationships with internet partners.
- Updating rates and restrictions across all distribution channels.
- Studying market and competition data daily.
- Producing benchmarking and performance reports.
- Maintaining work systems and tools.
- Managing revenue reporting systems and reservation pattern analysis.
- Staying updated on software and data management trends.
- Having thorough knowledge of hotel products, rates, and promotions, and participating in cross-selling.
- Monitoring competitor hotel and restaurant products, providing weekly updates.
- Providing market intelligence by monitoring business sources and segments.
- Engaging in multi-departmental selling and pursuing new market segments.
- Assisting the DOSM in proposal preparation for new markets.
- Promoting a positive hotel image and ensuring revenue and cost controls are maximized proactively.
- Reporting industry and local market trends.
- Attending scheduled revenue meetings.
- Being punctual, well-groomed, and compliant with hotel rules and regulations.
- Managing staff holiday and leave balances, fostering employee morale, and promoting a professional image.
- Anticipating customer needs to enhance service quality and satisfaction.
- Supporting colleagues and being flexible to assist in other hotel areas.
- Familiarity with company documentation and operational standards.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in hotel Revenue Management or related departments is beneficial.
- Strong command of English; additional languages are an asset.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Hotel Management, Tourism, or Economics.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerBI, or similar data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of hotel technology systems such as PMS, Channel Manager, GDS, CRS, Extranets.
