Job summary

InterContinental Fujairah Resort is seeking a Restaurant Server to warmly welcome guests, take food and beverage orders, and help maintain service standards in our luxury hotel.

You will work with Restaurant, Kitchen, Bar and F&B teams, upsell effectively, stay knowledgeable on menus and HACCP hygiene, and share guest feedback with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years’ hotel experience in a similar role.
• Food service experience with knowledge of restaurant operations.
• Must meet minimum age to serve alcohol per local rules.
• Strong communication with guests and team members.
• Good reading and writing for orders and paperwork.
• Basic math for handling cash and payments.

Your Day to Day:

Great restaurant memories come from many places. The sights, sounds, scents and, importantly, service. As a Restaurant Server, you’ll welcome our guests, recommend food and drink and help keep service on-track and up to standard. By tailoring each guest’s experience to their unique tastes, you’ll create memories as delightful as the dishes.

Some of your main role responsibilities are:

• Greet guests warmly and take food and beverage orders promptly and professionally.


• Set up and maintain tables and service areas according to hotel standards.


• Provide attentive service, anticipate guest needs, and handle concerns professionally.


• Obtain guest feedback and share relevant comments with the Supervisor or Manager.


• Maintain good knowledge of menus, ingredients, promotions, and dietary requirements.


• Work closely with the Restaurant, Kitchen, Bar, and F&B teams to ensure smooth operations.


• Support colleagues during busy periods and assist in other areas as required.


• Perform department/outlet opening or closing duties as required.


• Participate in training and continuously develop food, beverage, and service knowledge.


• Maximize sales through effective upselling and product knowledge.


• Process orders and payments accurately using the POS system.


• Maintain high standards of food safety, HACCP, hygiene, and cleanliness.


• Follow all restaurant SOPs, hotel policies, cash handling procedures, and safety requirements.


• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the restaurant.

Ideally, youll have some or all of the following competencies and experience were looking for:

• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in hotels in similar position


• Food service experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations preferred.


• Must be at the minimum age to serve alcohol in line with any local legislative requirements.


• Communication skills used frequently when interacting with guests wait staff, cooks, and supervisor.


• Reading and writing abilities used often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.


• Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit


• Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays


• Ability to perform the following: Carrying or lifting items, assist with the food delivery, bending, stooping, kneeling, handling food objects; plates, trays, glasses, etc
