Job summary

InterContinental Fujairah Resort in Fujairah is seeking a guest-focused bar professional to deliver attentive service and upsell beverages in a dynamic luxury hotel setting.

You will work closely with bar, restaurant and other departments to ensure smooth operations, maintain hygiene standards, and handle payments while providing exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in hotels in similar position.
• Food service knowledge of Bar operations preferred.
• Must meet minimum legal age to serve alcohol.
• Good command of English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized bar service.
• Collaborate with bar, restaurant and other departments to ensure smooth operations and support busy periods.
• Set up and replenish the bar with beverages, coffee, tea, milk, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and hotel standards, upselling where appropriate.
• Handle guest payments and transactions in line with hotel procedures.
• Respond to guest requests and resolve complaints using service recovery procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized bar areas and ensure equipment is clean, safe and functional.
• Manage beverage stock, requisitions, liquor inventory and orders with proper storage and rotation (HACCP, FIFO, FEFO).
• Follow hotel, safety, hygiene, and local legislative requirements at all times.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Your Day to Day:

• Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized bar service.
• Work closely with the bar, restaurant, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations, supporting the team during busy periods.
• Set up and replenish the bar with beverages, coffee, tea, milk, ice, garnishes, glassware, and supplies.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and hotel standards, while promoting house drinks and upselling to maximize revenue.
• Handle guest payments and transactions in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Respond to guest requests and resolve complaints using appropriate service recovery procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized bar areas and ensure all equipment is clean, safe, and in proper working condition.
• Manage beverage stock, requisitions, liquor inventory, and orders, ensuring proper storage, security, and stock rotation in accordance with hotel procedures and HACCP, FIFO, and FEFO standards.
• Follow hotel, safety, hygiene, and local legislative requirements at all times.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in hotels in similar position
• Food service experience with general knowledge of Bar & restaurant operations preferred.
• Must meet the minimum legal age to serve alcohol in accordance with local laws and regulations.
• Good command of English language, both oral and written. Other languages is an advantage
• Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service.
• Strong communication, teamwork, customer service, and upselling skills.
• Able to work effectively under pressure and flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
