Job Description

The Role
  • To promote efficiency, confidence, courtesy, and an extremely high standard of social skills.
  • To generally promote and ensure good inter-departmental relations.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
Planning & Organizing
  • To prepare schedules for all personnel according to the forecast and within the limits of the staffing guide, to ensure adequate manpower at all times and under the guidance of the F&B Manager.
  • To recommend hiring, promotions, and dismissals to the F&B Manager.
  • To be involved in planning of promotions, beverage purchases, and pricing under the supervision of the F&B Manager.
  • To assist the F&B manager in shortlisting potential staff for development.
  • To participate actively in creating new drinks, snacks, and improving presentations to achieve overall objectives and propose variations to the F&B Manager.
  • To assist the F&B Manager in any outlined/detailed tasks.
Operations
  • To ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of all areas of the Outlet.
  • To ensure sanitary conditions according to Health codes and Hotel standards.
  • To supervise daily operations under standards fixed by Hotel Management and F&B Manager.
  • To advise and consult with F&B Manager and Head Bartender regarding service bar matters.
  • To supervise all bar personnel, observing attitude towards colleagues and guests.
  • To ensure correct handling of equipment to minimize breakages and losses.
  • To inspect all areas daily before opening according to fixed checklists and ensure adherence to closing duties.
  • To enforce and maintain all policies and procedures under the guidance of the F&B Manager.
  • To prepare requisitions for beverages, condiments, supplies, and guest items, considering established par stocks.
  • To report equipment failures/problems to Maintenance.
  • To participate in training/development schemes as recommended by senior management.
  • To be aware of beverage costs and provide consumption data for purchasing.
  • To maintain standards for all beverages, food, and cocktails under the guidance of the F&B Manager.
  • To adhere to grooming standards as per Hotel & Outlet policy.
  • To replace the F&B Manager in her absence, fully in charge of the bar operation.
  • To ensure dress code and entrance procedures are followed.
  • To ensure sound and lighting levels are maintained as per standards.
  • To inspect fridges and bar stores for expiry dates.
  • To observe opening and closing hours according to law and standards.
  • To control beverage wastage and spoilage.
  • To perform other duties assigned by the F&B Manager.
  • To conduct induction and training for new staff with the F&B Manager.
  • To understand and adhere to policies related to Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.
  • To familiarize with company documentation and operational standards manual.
Administration
  • To assist with reports: overtime, daily logs, expenses, schedules, and vacations.
Hygiene, Personal Safety, Environment, Confidentiality
  • Ensure proper care of equipment and furniture.
  • Be familiar with hotel policies, layout, and emergency procedures.
  • Know and apply safety regulations to ensure safety of people and property.
  • Respect and promote the hotel's commitments to the Environment Charter of Planet 21.
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations, including Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety policies.
  • Safeguard confidential records and information, and do not disclose financial or sensitive information.
