The Resource Planning Position is responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining medium- and short-term plans (staff and equipment) and rosters for the assigned business area in line with business plans, strategy and Service Level Agreement (SLA).
They are also responsible for applying statistical and optimization methods to develop and interpret scenarios that supports management with decision making and strategic policy formulation to serve customer airlines in an innovative & cost-effective manner.
Forecast
- Develop a volume forecast based on data made available to you from various departments, commercial, operations, production, and airport operations.
- Conduct periodic reviews to assess performance against the forecast and adjust resources correctly.
- Create visibility through sharing of data to assist the wider business in making decisions.
Planning & Reporting
- Develop plans for peak and off peak operations using forecasted information.
- Assist in developing “what if scenarios” to encourage better use of labor utilization within the business.
- Partner with operational leaders and take feedback onboard where planning can be enhanced.
- Develop efficient shift patterns and schedules based on operational requirements and manage leave planning to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
- Identify areas where we are over or understaffed to enhance efficiencies.
- Work collaboratively with HR and Finance to assist in data requirements and budget planning.
- Present the optimized roster solution along with full roster Management Information System (MIS) (like roster coverage, under coverage, roster efficiency) to senior management, keeping in view the maximum utilization of existing resources and ensuring necessary service levels are met within defined roster rules.
- Prepare and maintain all regular/adhoc reports pertaining to KPI, short- and long-term manpower status/requirements, engagement rules and master rosters on a weekly, monthly, or annual basis for senior management to make informed resource and manpower related decisions.
- Create visibility through sharing of data to assist the wider business in making decisions.
Systems
- Act as SME for RMS and associated tools to enable maximum usage in developing various Planning scenarios.
- Work across various systems, platforms, and tools to review, analyze, and communicate their data.
- Understand how to develop labor models into systems such as INFORM and GS Planning.
- Understand how to develop labor dashboards to Power BI.
