Job description

RINA is currently recruiting for a Resilience Engineer to join its office in Abu Dhabi within the Italy Infrastructure & Mobility Division.

Mission

RINA is seeking a Resilience Engineer to be based in UAE, available for traveling in Saudi, about Resilience Engineering Consulting for infrastructures, related to risks from climate adaptation, natural disasters, major accidents (transports).

Key Accountabilities

The key focus of the role is to manage a portfolio of clients and projects related to the resilience of infrastructures, also supporting the acquisitions of new contracts by coordinating the development of high-quality proposals, and when necessary, developing methodologies and approaches to deliver the services or to meet the clients’ requirements.

The role involves dealing with phases of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery of crises, disasters, emergencies, and their impacts on critical infrastructures.

The candidate shall be familiar with resilience concepts, guidelines, methods, and standards, including those related to Business Continuity and Risk Management.

The candidate shall have a background in geotechnical, structural, water infrastructures & hydrogeology for natural disaster streams, or in civil protection/emergency management.

Project Delivery and Project Management

  • Support the development of projects for emergency, crisis, and disaster management
  • Project Management of the acquired clients and contracts
  • Coordinate the input of technical teams, eventually from external suppliers
  • Identify and support the qualification of new suppliers
  • Maintain client relations about technical and operational aspects
  • Create and update methodologies

Support to Proposal Preparation

  • Support the production of high-quality submissions and qualification materials in response to formal and informal client solicitations, including Letters of Interest (LOIs), Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQ), Requests for Proposals (RFP), and/or for positioning efforts in accordance with RINA brand guidelines and to meet client requirements.
  • Coordinate input of technical components
  • Review technical proposals and develop methodologies for project execution

Other Responsibilities

  • Draft Project Summaries/Presentations about submitted proposals and projects
  • Update and maintain proposals and projects libraries
  • Review the status of the operational projects
  • In conjunction with the marketing/branding team, develop capability statements, skill sheets, project data sheets, and CVs in line with corporate guidelines

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant role (Project Manager)
  • 5 years of experience in companies delivering project management, engineering design, research, and public regulatory for risks from climate adaptation, natural disasters, and major incidents (transports, industrial)
  • Experience with standards for Business Continuity and Risk Management
  • Relevant university-level qualifications in Civil/Architectural Engineering/Planning/Risk or Emergency Management. Disciplines related to geotechnical, structural for buildings (about critical services) and transport infrastructures, water infrastructures & hydrogeology for natural disaster streams, or in civil protection/emergency management/civil defense
  • Excellent English written communication skills including writing and editing – ability to easily communicate the required ideas or concept and tailor responses to client specifications. Arabic language is a plus.
