Resident Engineer (Landscape & Irrigation)

Dubai, UAE

Parsons is looking for a talented Resident Engineer (Landscape & Irrigation) to join our team! In this role, you will develop the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, and monitor progress to meet schedule and budget requirements.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, and monitors progress to meet schedule and budget requirements.
2. Identifies and documents changes in project scope.
3. Determines the scope of procurement work, schedules, and budgets for technical aspects of the contract and monitors progress.
4. Interfaces with Procurement and Subcontracts to facilitate procurement coordination with vendors/subcontractors.
5. Participates in bid analysis to help determine supplier availability and capability.
6. Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and that quality is acceptable.
7. Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned technical personnel, and makes reassignments as project needs arise.
8. Conducts performance evaluations, takes corrective action as necessary, and recommends salary actions.
9. Provides training and development opportunities for assigned personnel.
10. Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project, as well as the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the company.
11. Assists the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or study.
12. Participates in determining the technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion of the project.
13. Ensures client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines.
14. Expedites distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and Project Manager.
15. Prepares technical reports, project manuals, and documentation of activity for the client and project management.
16. Acts as Project Manager's deputy for certain activities, such as attending meetings in his/her absence, etc.
17. Obtains, analyzes, and circulates technical and contractual information to project disciplines.
18. Reviews and approves change orders.
19. Notifies project management and other affected personnel of all changes.
20. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Agricultural Engineering.
2. Minimum 10+ years experience in construction supervision of landscape and irrigation projects.
3. Broad general engineering background, and irrigation project engineering experience is required.
4. A comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction processes, as well as industry practices.
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills, familiarity with CAD and other engineering software, and supervisory ability on projects.
