Resident Engineer - Electrical Substation

Location: UAE – Various project sites

Overview
Tractebel, part of the ENGIE Group, is seeking a Resident Engineer – Electrical (Substation) to manage electrical engineering for high‑voltage power substation projects (400kV / 220kV / 132kV). You will ensure technical, HSE, and financial performance during design and construction supervision, oversee complex site works, and maintain client and stakeholder coordination.

Your Mission
As Resident Engineer – Electrical (Substation) in the Transmission & Distribution department, you will manage the electrical engineering portfolio of HV substation projects, ensuring design integrity, site supervision, and alignment with client requirements and standards.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of substation electrical engineering during design and construction supervision.
• Supervise and manage technical works for 400kV / 220kV / 132kV substations on behalf of the Client (TRANSCO).
• Oversee site activities and ensure construction follows approved designs.
• Monitor, report, and resolve non-conformance issues.
• Plan, organize, and supervise engineering and inspection activities.
• Ensure compliance with HSE and quality standards throughout project execution.
• Manage client and customer interfaces to ensure strong relationships and effective communication.
• Review, verify, and close out installed quantities.
• Provide progress reports and advise on technical solutions where required.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (approved by UAE regulatory authorities).
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in electrical engineering with a focus on substation projects in the UAE.
