Job summary

Bainona Engineering Consultancy LLC is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to lead on-site supervision and act as the Engineer’s representative on residential building projects in Abu Dhabi. The role oversees the supervision team, ensures quality, progress and technical compliance through to handover.

Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree, 15+ years of relevant experience, GCC exposure, and a track record in consultancy-based construction supervision within residential

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and inspection procedures.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years GCC experience.
• 5 years in engineering consultancy with construction supervision.
• Experience on residential buildings projects.
• Knowledge of Abu Dhabi codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day site supervision and coordinate disciplines.
• Supervise works for compliance with drawings, specs, and contracts.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, method statements, and RFIs.
• Monitor progress against programme; flag delays and risks.
• Conduct site walks and ensure QA/QC procedures are followed.
• Coordinate NCRs, site instructions, and corrective actions.
• Chair or participate in meetings; track agreed actions.
• Liaise with client, contractor, authorities and stakeholders.
• Review progress information and support payment/variation assessments.
• Lead snagging, testing, commissioning coordination, and handovers.
• Prepare site/progress reports and escalate to management.

Job description

Bainona Engineering Consultancy is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to lead day-to-day site supervision and act as the Engineer’s representative on residential building projects. The role is responsible for coordinating the supervision team, monitoring contractor performance and driving quality, progress and technical compliance through to handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day activities of the site supervision team and coordinate Civil, Architectural, MEP, QA/QC, HSE and other disciplines.
• Supervise construction works for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements and applicable authority regulations.
• Review and coordinate contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, technical submissions and RFIs with discipline engineers.
• Monitor project progress against the approved programme and elevate delays, risks, resource shortages and critical constraints.
• Conduct regular site walks and ensure inspection, testing and quality-control procedures are being implemented effectively.
• Coordinate NCRs, site instructions, technical observations and corrective actions and ensure timely close-out of non-conformities.
• Chair or participate in site, technical, progress and coordination meetings and follow up agreed actions.
• Coordinate with the Client, Contractor, authorities and project stakeholders on technical and site matters.
• Review contractor progress information and support assessment of payment, variations and claims with the QS and Planning Engineer.
• Lead snagging, testing and commissioning coordination, handover documentation, as-built/O&M review and project close-out activities.
• Prepare periodic site and progress reports and maintain clear escalation to the Project Manager / Bainona management.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Sound knowledge of construction methods, technical submittals, inspection procedures, quality control and contract administration.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant GCC experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with an engineering consultancy in construction supervision.
• Relevant experience on Residential Buildings projects.
• Working knowledge of Abu Dhabi codes and Regulations.
