Responsibilities

  • Manage and process room reservations accurately.
  • Monitor room availability, rates, and allotments.
  • Maintain knowledge of guest rooms, hotel facilities, and services.
  • Collaborate with Sales & Credit department regarding credit status.
  • Ensure effective inventory control and maintain supply pars.
  • Provide training to the reservation team on product knowledge.
  • Train on yield management principles and inventory control.
  • Manage guest booking materials and correspondence.
  • Update room rates, packages, and standardised wording.
  • Liaise with relevant managers for last-minute bookings.
  • Maintain proficiency in reservation software systems.
  • Adhere to Front Office Policies and Procedures.

Job description

  • Manage and process room reservations promptly, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established standards and procedures.
  • Monitor room availability, rates, and allotments, providing monthly reports on actual materialisation.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all guest rooms, suites, hotel facilities, and services, including their locations, rates, and amenities.
  • Collaborate with Sales & Credit department regarding credit status and take appropriate actions when necessary.
  • Ensure effective inventory control, maintain supply pars, and reorder when needed within budget constraints.
  • Provide product knowledge training to the reservation team, covering both this hotel and other properties within the group.
  • Train and communicate yield management principles and room inventory control to the reservation team.
  • Manage and update all guest booking materials, including vouchers, guarantee letters, and e-mail correspondence.
  • Monitor and update room rates, packages, and standardised wording for notes and comments, informing relevant sections of any changes.
  • Liaise with Guest Relations Officer, Duty Assistant Manager, Assistant Front Office Manager or Front Office Manager for last-minute group bookings or stranded passengers.
  • Maintain proficiency in Opera and other reservation software systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department head and adhere to Front Office Policies and Procedures.
