Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full‑fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.

A Research Coordinator plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and managing research activities to ensure studies are conducted efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. In a healthcare or hospital setting, the Research Coordinator serves as the primary link between investigators, participants, clinical staff, and regulatory bodies, supporting the successful execution of research projects and clinical trials.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage clinical research studies and trials in accordance with approved protocols.


• Assist Principal Investigators (PIs) and research teams with study planning, implementation, and completion.


• Obtain and document informed consent from study participants.


• Schedule participant visits, follow-ups, assessments, and research-related procedures.


• Collect, verify, maintain, and manage research data accurately and confidentially.


• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, ethical standards, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory requirements.


• Prepare and submit research documentation to Institutional Review Boards (IRBs)/Ethics Committees.


• Maintain study files, regulatory binders, and essential research documents.


• Monitor participant safety and report adverse events or protocol deviations as required.


• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, laboratory personnel, pharmacists, and other departments involved in research activities.


• Manage study budgets, supplies, equipment, and research-related resources when applicable.


• Facilitate site visits, audits, monitoring visits, and inspections by sponsors or regulatory authorities.


• Track study progress, participant enrollment, and data quality to ensure study milestones are achieved.


• Prepare reports, study updates, and research summaries for investigators, sponsors, and hospital leadership.


• Provide education and guidance to research staff regarding study procedures and protocol requirements.


• Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of patient and research information.


• Support publication activities, presentations, and dissemination of research findings.


• Contribute to the development of evidence-based practices and continuous improvement in patient care through research initiatives.
