The Robotics and Intelligent Systems Control Laboratory (RISC) at NYU Abu Dhabi invites qualified applicants with a doctorate degree in the areas of electrical or computer engineering or computer science, or related fields to apply. A strong publication record is encouraged, along with experience in machine learning model development and statistical learning.
The selected candidate will work on innovative AI methodologies in areas such as renewable energy integration (online forecasting tools and renewable energy management systems), smart transmission and distribution networks, AI-driven smart grid technologies, and demand response systems. The role involves conducting research, developing standalone and prototype AI solutions, and publishing in top-tier conferences and journals.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a strong publication record in AI-driven energy solutions. Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (MATLAB), as well as experience in statistical learning, and embedded systems, is required. Familiarity with cost-effective COTS-based environmental monitoring solutions is a plus. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in research-focused teams and contribute to innovative AI-driven solutions.
