Research Associate in the Center for Genomics and Systems Biology (CGSB) - Dr. Kenneth Birnbaum

The Center for Genomics and Systems Biology (CGSB) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications from individuals to be appointed as a Research Associate. The position will be based at NYU Abu Dhabi and supervised by Kenneth Birnbaum.

Overview of the Department and Position Accountabilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

1. Growing plants and working with plant cell culture to conduct single-cell RNA-seq studies.
2. Developing and carrying out drought studies in drought tolerant and susceptible plants.
3. Generating protoplasts for long-term culture in microfluidic devices.
4. Collaborating with fluidics engineers to develop plant cell microfluidic devices.
5. Growing mangrove plants in an outdoor nursery and troubleshooting methods to collect mangrove cells for RNA-seq.
6. Communicating with various outside groups to organize seminars and meetings.
