Description

The Center for Cyber Security (CCS) at New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi, UAE invites applications for a Research Associate / Postdoctoral Associate position in Quantum Computing Security. The candidate is expected to conduct cutting-edge research in areas including, but not limited to, Quantum Machine Learning (QML), Machine Learning on Quantum Computers, Security of Quantum Circuits, Design Automation and Tools for Quantum Circuits, Robust and Efficient Mapping of Quantum Algorithms, Quantum Noise-Aware Optimizations, QML Security, Error Correction, Secure Quantum-Classical Systems, Privacy-Preserving Quantum Computing, and Fingerprinting for Quantum Computing. Experience with quantum machines and development environments like QiSKit and PennyLane is highly valued.

The successful candidate will work with advanced technologies in a stimulating research environment, with opportunities to collaborate with partners in academia and industry, including access to quantum computers. The Center offers a unique interdisciplinary research environment spanning Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics, allowing exploration of fundamental and theoretical questions. Candidates will have opportunities to engage in interdisciplinary projects and collaborate with other postdocs.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. Expertise in Quantum Physics is a plus. Candidates with a PhD in Quantum Physics are welcome, especially those focusing on Quantum Circuits, Quantum Algorithms, and Quantum Software development. The appointment is for two years with potential for extension based on performance.

Compensation includes a competitive salary, housing allowance, medical insurance, annual leave, and support for dependent schooling, with tax-free salaries in the UAE. Funds are available for travel, computing, and publications, and access to world-class research facilities is provided.

The preferred starting date is Spring 2025, but earlier start dates may be considered. Review of applications begins on December 15, 2024, and continues until the positions are filled.
