Research Assistant Medical Device Innovation
The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to support its pioneering research in designing and developing novel medical devices for human application. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking projects focused on improving the diagnosis and treatment of metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurological diseases.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in research projects involving computational modeling, device design, and manufacturing
- Support optimization of chemical, mechanical, and electrical characteristics of medical devices
- Conduct data collection, analysis, and project management tasks
- Train new lab members and provide guidance on research protocols
- Manage purchasing of equipment and consumables for laboratory use
- Participate in manuscript preparation and research publications
- Engage in preclinical experiments, including working with rodent models (if applicable)
Required Skills and Experience:
Education:
- A bachelor's degree (BS) in engineering, biomedical sciences, or a related discipline (MS preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of laboratory experience
- Prior experience in computational, experimental, or engineering-based research is highly preferred
- Familiarity with rodent models, basic handling, and surgical techniques is desirable
Skills:
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- High proficiency in English
- Excellent time management and ability to multitask effectively
