Job summary
NYU Abu Dhabi invites applications for a research assistant to coordinate and contribute to ongoing projects in performance, visual arts, and curation within Joanna Settle's labs. The role involves assisting with creative projects as well as developing infrastructure to support artistic work.
The fellow will engage with international collaborations, support teaching with Professor Settle, and supervise undergraduate and graduate researchers, with emphasis on collaboration and project management.
Qualifications
- BA or BFA in an arts practice field or equivalent experience
- Demonstration of advanced abilities as a visual or performance artist
- Ability to calmly and consistently advance collaborative work
- A close listener
- Mac computer fluency Microsoft Excel and Word fluency
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and contribute to ongoing research projects and laboratories for performance, visual arts and curation
- Support Professor Settles classes and arts pedagogy
- Attend biennials and other creative convenings as appropriate
- Weekly management of projects in development: scheduling, correspondence, research
- Oversee undergraduate and graduate research assistants and supervise projects
