The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks a research assistant to join a new initiative focused on designing and developing novel medical devices for human use.

The successful candidate will participate in projects aimed at improving diagnosis and therapy for metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurologic diseases through computational modeling, device design and manufacturing, and preclinical experiments. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis, project management, training new lab members, purchasing equipment and consumables, and manuscript preparation. The position offers opportunities to work on multiple research projects in a multidisciplinary environment with PhD-level scientists, graduate, and undergraduate students.

Requirements include a BS (MS preferred) in engineering or biomedical disciplines, at least two years of laboratory experience, and the ability to work independently and in teams. Skills in organization, communication, problem-solving, and time management are essential. Experience with rodent models, including handling and surgical techniques, is preferred. Proficiency in English and strong computational, experimental, or engineering skills are highly desirable.
