Job description

The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a research assistant to support the design and development of novel medical devices for human use.

The successful candidate will participate in projects aimed at improving diagnosis and therapy of metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurologic diseases. These projects involve computational modeling, device design and manufacturing, optimization of chemical, mechanical, and electrical properties, and preclinical testing. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis, project management, training new lab members, purchasing equipment and supplies, and manuscript preparation. The role offers the opportunity to engage in multiple research projects within a multidisciplinary team of PhD scientists, graduate, and undergraduate students.

Applicants should hold a BS (MS preferred) in engineering or a biomedical-related field, with at least two years of laboratory experience. They must be capable of working independently and collaboratively, with strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. Experience with rodent models, including handling and surgical techniques, is desirable. Proficiency in English and strong computational, experimental, or engineering skills are highly preferred.
